He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a gathering organized to launch the 'Mountain Buddhist Mission (PBM) Orphanage' established in 1983 at Kamalchhari village of Khagrachhari district headquarters on Friday (May 31) afternoon. Â
He said greater unity is needed for greater interests. Because of his broad and visionary thinking, Bhante established educational institutions like Parbatya Chattal Orphanage at Dighinala in the seventies and Sumanalankar Bhante PBM at Kamalchari in Khagrachari in the eighties. It is the responsibility of all of us to nurture and advance these creations. Â Chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Refugee Task Force Sudatta Chakma spoke as a special guest in the rally held under the chairmanship of Professor Bodhisattva Dewan, former principal of Khagrachari Government College. Â Also Chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board Supradeep Chakma, Mong Circle Chief Sachingpru Chowdhury, former Principal of Khagrachari Government College Professor Dr. Sudhin Kumar Chakma and former chairman of Khagrachari Hill Zilla Parishad Chaithoong Marma spoke. Â
The meeting started with the welcome speech of Shubmangal Chakma Sudarshi, member of Khagrachari Hill District Council and convener of the organizing committee. Ripon Chakma, General Secretary of PBM Orphanage Management Committee, read out the written statement of PBM Orphanage and Education Complex Founder Chief Sumanalankar Mahathero due to illness. Â
People's representatives of Khagrachari and Rangamati districts, retired government officials, educationists, NGO personalities and many others were present in the rally. Â
